Pipe Bursting Technology

At Zonzini Pipeline and Sewer Services we like to explore new technologies and problem solving strategies for New York sewer repairs. Sometimes the usual repair technique won't work for your sewer problem. When pipes are in terrible condition, sometimes modern lining is not possible. If sections of pipe have collapsed or sections of pipe are missing, for example with cast iron pipe there many be a better option than lining. In these cases, pipe bursting technology may be the best alternative.

One of the advantage to pipe bursting technology is it's ability to actually replace old pipe with larger pip because the the bore diameter is slightly larger than the outside diameter of the pipe. Powerful winches and cables need to be used to make this work. The power of the winch pulls the "static" head through the existing pipeline. It may have a blade or pneumatic hammer to help it through. The hammer is needed for hard, dry, compacted soils.

New sections of pipe are welded together making a seamless HDPE pipe that prevents root intrusion, water infiltration and leakage.

As with any technology for sewer line replacement Port Chester, there are limitations. The line has to be in good enough condition for the cable to be pulled through. Pipe Bursting does not fix a sag or belly pipe replacement Brooklyn. The new pipe will only follow the path of the old pipe (so it doesn't move the location if needed). Rocks can jam the bursting head which prevents it from passing - which ultimately involved excavation - the thing that you were trying to avoid. Finally, some pipe bends may not allow the bursting head to stay in the pipe because it may exit the pipe and require excavation.

So, there are limitations to pipe bursting technology for your pipe repair or replacement. However, in the right situation, it may be the right fix for your New York sewer repair.
